Medical Specialist Outreach Assistance Program |

The Medical Specialist Outreach Assistance Program (MSOAP) is funded by the Department of Health and Ageing and administered in NSW by the NSW Rural Doctors Network and NSW Health to improve rural access to medical specialist services. Medical specialists are eligible to claim financial assistance for costs associated with delivering outreach services such as travel, accommodation and room hire in addition to providing continuing education and upskilling opportunities for local health providers. MGPN supports eight Specialist services to the region which deliver over 1,200 occasions of service per year including: Psychiatry - Dr Peter Sternhell delivers a fortnightly service from Kookora Surgery, Griffith;
- Dr Saretta Lee delivers a fortnightly service from Leeton Medical Centre, Leeton;
Orthopaedics - Dr Andrew Redgment delivers a monthly service from Leeton Medical Centre, Leeton;
Oncology - Dr Craig Underhill & Associates deliver a monthly service into Deniliquin;
Opthalmology - Dr Andrew Gibson delivers a monthly service from Hay Surgery;
Dermatology - Dr Kerry Crotty delivers a monthly service from Griffith Medical Centre;
Obstetrics & Gynaecology - Dr B Khara delivers a monthly service from Finley;
Endocrinology - Professor Dennis Yue, together with a diabetes team from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney deliver a multidisciplinary diabetes clinic from Griffith Community Health Centre three times per year.
All MSOAP specialists require a GP referral to access the service.
