MGPN employs a part time Diabetes Educator and Diabetes Nurse under the More Allied Health Service (MAHS) program, funded by the Department of Health and Ageing.  MGPN has also established a service level agreement with Greater Southern Area Health Service to deliver diabetes education services to small rural communities in the region which otherwise would have limited access to such services locally.

Under the employment model, the Diabetes Educator and Diabetes Nurse deliver services from GP surgeries in Leeton, Hay and Hanwood.  The contracted service is delivered via a community health model and is available to residents of Jerilderie, Berrigan, Finley and Tocumwal.

The MAHS program funds over 400 occasions of service in Diabetes Education per year and is available at no cost to patients.
